How long does it take for a client’s e-file status (for any tax type) to be reflected in Lacerte in India?

It’s taking varying amounts of time for the e-file details to update, which makes it difficult to determine whether the status has been accepted or rejected in a timely manner.

Both Intuit & the IRS are slammed at deadline time. The submission date is proof of timely filing, even if acks are delayed. IF there's a rejection, you have days (10? 5? ) to correct the errors. If you can't, then paper file.

"which makes it difficult to determine whether the status has been accepted or rejected in a timely manner."

Sometimes you just have to have a little patience.

Of all the ones I submitted yesterday, only one has yet to be accepted.  Of course, it's a CA state one 😉

So a quiet day of working on payroll quarterlies until it's time to go home & have that martini I've been thirsting for.

Hope everyone gets everything filed and even accepted today.  Another deadline in the rear view mirrow.

I submitted my last return yesterday (10/14) afternoon (Pacific time) after the clients finally signed their 8879's.

The 1040 has yet to be accepted by the IRS, so the CA return is being held by Lacerte.  Does the submission date also work for California (even if Lacerte is holding it pending US acceptance), or should  I try to file it separately today?

Strangely, their FinCEN 114's, which usually take 48 hours for acceptance, have both been accepted already.

CA also recognizes the submission date as the 'filing' date.

I'm glad someone else asked. I don't ever remember it taking this long on a deadline day. Nothing today has come back.

I thought I read that right now the IRS is being staffed by three people, a one eyed dog and an iguana, so things are going to take a little longer than usual.

My returns e-filed yesterday were finally accepted after about 16 hours.  So slow, but it's moving.

Appreciate you both commenting, I have 16 returns filed and unaccepted that have been filed for 6-12 hours and was definitely getting concerned.
