frozen program how to fix?

After putting in my password, the program gives me the main screen showing clients, but will not respond to any command. It's frozen & I cannot even close the program. How to get it to work?

Close your Lacerte program. Go to the Windows Start menu. Type in %appdata% in the search field, then press Enter. Open the Lacerte folder in the new window that appears. Locate the file that has .ini at the end of the name. For example, the configuration file for 2020 Lacerte is named W20tax.ini. It may not show.ini and will show as just w20tax. Delete the .ini file. Relaunch Lacerte.
