Assign entries to states -- WTH

The box for Assign Entries lists one state but the detail lists a different state (the non-resident state). Isn't there a global entry to make all the input entries allocated automatically to the assigned state?

The stock sales input sheets have this issue, as well as most other input sheets I imagine.

It is so silly that all these income entries get assigned to the Non-resident state!

This is costing me money and time.

I believe the default is the resident state. You can select the "other" state from the drop down in that section and it will change all entries for that item (i.e. that one Schedule C, or that one Schedule D entry). Once you do that it will make that selected state for the next new entry.

For multi state you just need to be very attentive.
