How do I print a 1040-V with nothing in the amount box? My client is undecided on how much she will pay so I want it blank so she can write in whatever amount. A negative 1 on screen 3 removes the 1040-V from the return.

Leave the 1040V with the total amount due. The client can cross out that amount and write in what they want. It is a payment coupon that is to be mailed. The barcode is an identifier of the sender, but not an amount. Be sure the client is aware of late payment penalties.
