How does one get Government copy to print balance due payment vouchers (1040V etc)?
I had an hour call w tech support only to be advised she needed to disconnect because it was 5:00, saying I would have to call back later, WTH!
Tech support goes down while pricing goes up.
This is likely a combo of inputs. Here's what I would look at and play with:
Screen 1: Is e-file selected? If it is, a government copy technically isn't needed. To get a complete government copy instead of just the e-file forms:
Settings>Options>Items to Print>Govt Copy>Only efile Forms in Complete Return">No
Screen 3: "Miscellaneous">Form 1040-V>input "1"
Settings>Options>Tax Return>Federal Tax Options>Form 1040-V>"When Applicable"
FWIW, I only have one client that insists on vouchers anymore (because I hit my clients hard with how I trust the post office WAY less than the security of online banking). So for her, I just do a "partial print" and manually select the client letter and all the balance due and estimate vouchers.
Hi @emscpasbca,
Were you able to print?
Here are some notes on this topic:
In Lacerte, go to Settings > Options > Items To Print.
Select the Governement Filing Copy on the left hand side.
Scroll down to the question for "Only Efile forms in Complete Return". If this setting is set to YES the vouchers will not print. Changing this to "NO" will allow the vouchers to print. - Thanks @Karl.
The other option would be to print a partial return through Print > Print Tax Return > select the forms to print including the voucher.
Let us know if you were able to print.
