I am trying to electronically file an S-Corp return in multiple states, including New Jersey. I am now, as of a couple weeks ago getting a critical diagnostic warning stating :State issued PIN is invalid or missing. A Valid pin is 10 alpha numeric characters in length. (ref. #58819) I called and talked with Lacerte and was told this is a New Jersey E*File issue that just started on May 14th however they did not know how to clear it. I called New Jersey and they gave me a 4 digit PIN for the company as well as the 10 digit New Jersey ID number however neither of those clear the diagnostic. Has anyone else had this issue or is there a work around so I can E*File. The agent in New Jersey was not aware of any other 10 Alpha Numeric number.

Thanks, that worked for me as well. I am happy it was a simple fix and will keep that in mind for the future.

alphanumeric, implies alpha & numeric.......so the 10 "digit" corporate number is probably not good enough to clear the error.

I do agree that this was not an issue a few months ago. in fact previously processed, submitted, error-free & accepted returns now have that diagnostic warning!

I disabled the e-file error warning and submitted.   Immediately after doing so I saw this across the screen: error occurred with background processing of EF Transmissions.

Now, waiting to see what happens. Not too confident.

my NJ CBT100 was accepted. ACK received.

disable the efile diag warning and submit.
