Ohio SD earned income cannot be MORE than Ohio Modified AGI but client only has two W-2s and the $300 charitable contribution deduction to give us Federal AGI and no OHIO additions or subtractions so the Ohio AGI IS less than the two W-2s. Will this Critical Diagnostic prevent e-filing the Ohio SD return?
Solution: Please review the Modified AGI worksheet provided under the OH form set. This will show how the OH AGI is being arrived at. If necessary, you can override the school district wages in screen 54.121, OH school district, or in the W-2 screen under the state and local area for OH school district. This diagnostic will prevent the e-filing of the return.

Traditional School Districts tax a percentage amount on the Ohio taxable income, based on Lines 19-23 on the SD 100.
Earned Income School Districts tax on all earned income, based on Lines 24-27 on the SD 100.
The AGI is just the starting point for Ohio, and the $300 in charitable deduction on the 1040, reduces the AGI so it will not equal the W2, box 1 totals.
There should not be any error if you let the software do it's job and not override fields.
