Depreciation asset #{PrefixNum}: Invalid method for automobile.

Solution:

If not auto: Check in the Automobiles and Other Listed Property section of that asset for entries in that section. If auto: choose new method

just taking expenses, not depreciating. How do I record the expenses for a schedule C

Via Screen 22 or Screen 30, by entering the actual expenses and the total mileage/business mileage.
