The following diagnostic is generating:

The Colorado credit for income tax paid to another state, requires that Form DR 1778 be mailed to the Colorado Department of Revenue. Please select the checkbox ""Other state income tax returns"" and mail Form DR 1778 along with the required documentation.


Screen 4.1 under Form DR 1778 (Attachments) {CO} An option needs to be selected for 1=attachments mailed, 2=uploaded in revenue online, or left blank. If selecting a 1 or 2, you must also check a box below. UNLESS copy of other state's return is going to be sent as a pdf attachment with e-filing then Screen 4.1 Form DR 1778 section needs to be blank and 4.4 needs Send PDF attachment with Colorado return needs to be checked and Form and line number on state return needs to be Other state(s) income tax return(s)

I am not happy with extra effort that this takes. My last software program did this for me automatically. Intuit can do better.  It takes the ease out of efile. Disappointing!!

This is not quite clear.  Once I enter information on 4.4, does lacerte automatically send the pdf(s) of the state(s) tax return(s) to Colorado or is there addition action needed on my part?  I'm presuming (risky) that since there's no BROWSE feature where I did my entry on 4.4 that this is automated.  I wish this discussion clarified the point.
