I've downloaded the 2024 Pro Series and it worked fine until Dec 22,2024. Now after I sign in it opens, but the menu bar goes grey and nothing can be accessed. My clients are all listed but I cannot open them. I have done all updates and used tool Hub/repair. Any suggestions?

Have you tried repair updates from the windows menu. Try refresh updates from top menu. Try rebooting computer. If no luck uninstall program from windows settings, then reinstall

If youve done everything Terry suggested, sadly, it sounds like you'll need to call support.

Is this right when you first start it up, or in the middle of using it? Does it say Not Responding at the top when its greyed out?

Im just spit-balling here, did you have a Windows update that installed right around the same date that the issues began? Im wondering if an incomplete or botched Windows update would be the culprit. Check your Windows update history, just in case the dates line up.

Had checked the windows updates even before calling Tech support - no updates during those dates. I even tried shutting off Microsoft Defender, that did not help.

Since Tech Support was closed Saturday and Sunday I wiped my hard drive and reinstalled Windows 11. I downloaded Pro Series 2024 on Saturday 12-28-2024 and no other programs. It worked fine. I shut down at the end of the day. On Sunday 12-29-2024 I started my PC opened Pro Series 2024, it loaded, and then the menu bar went grey and no matter where I clicked nothing. I can see all the clients I transferred over from 2023, but cannot click on them to open. The only way to shut the program down is touse task manager.
I will be calling Tech Support again (3rd time) today. The amount that Intuit charges for Pro Series Tech Support should be able to resolve this issue.

Sorry you are having all the issues. Do you have a VPN (virtual private network), if so try and disable. if your not sure you can see if you have a VPN. When connected, the VPN connection name will display Connected underneath it. To see if you’re connected to the VPN while you’re doing things on your PC, select the Network icon (either or ) on the far right of the taskbar, then see if the VPN connection says Connected.

@balbal one other thing I would try is to shut down your internet, and see if you can open ProSeries off line to see if it works then. If it does work off line, then try another router.

Tried that - it did not work. After much complaining and asking for a refund (which they are not willing to give) I said I would call my credit card company to stop/reverse payment. That was the only way to get the issue elevated within Tech Support. I am now waiting for a call from Tech Support/Customer Service.

I wonder if its a graphics card conflict of some kind...out of my league for troubleshooting.

Well, I was promised a call back on 12/31/24 or 1/2/25 and no one called. I just got off the phone with customer service and they promised the case was escalated within their tax department and someone would call me back today. I only get the promise when I tell them I am calling the credit card company. Today is the final day.
I am already starting to look at other tax prep programs.

Just received a response from Microsoft. See below - If anyone else is having issues running ProSeries 2024 on Windows 11 24H2.
Microsoft community mainly addresses issues with Microsoft products, your issue may require you to wait for Intuit to provide a new software update or patch to resolve the compatibility issue with Windows 11 24H2.
I look forward to your feedback.
Happy holidays and happy new year!!

@balbal Can you check if there is another ProSeries window (PRS Survey or any other dialog) opened in the background? You can press Alt+Tab to see what windows are open. If you any dialog window open from ProSeries, close that and try. Let us know if this helps. If not, can you also put a screenshot of your ProSeries application when you land into this issue.

I made sure nothing else was running or open when I started this. I was suppose to get a call back from my escalated case, but no one ever responded. I called them on Friday 1-3-2025 to find out why no one called and was told my case was escalated and I would receive a call back that day - well guess what still NO CALL!

What Isham is saying is sometimes an advertisement or dialog window opens but its behind the PS program window, it wont show that anything extra is "running", ALT + TAB should show all windows.

No one was able to help me. I even contacted Microsoft to see if they could help. Microsoft said it was a problem with software compatibility and ProSeries should issue a fix/patch for it. And ProSeries it is not their software.
I had to switch to a different tax software and I am satisfied with my pick and their customer service.

Hi @Joe6 @balbal
Look into this article Using Forms Bar in ProSeries
Select Why is the Forms Bar or Open Forms Window Blank?
Try Solution 3, 5, & 7 & Reply back if one of these worked or not.
