Client who received letter 5071C went on the ID.me site, uploaded requested documentation and completed the process.  It did say the identity was verified. The letter however said to have letter and tax return with you for the process but it never requested any information from her tax return.  Wondering if anyone else experienced this.  Basically want to make sure the process is actually complete.  

What other hoops are there?!!

I think they just need the copy of the tax return to verify address on the return filed, if they knew the address, they probably didnt need the copy of the return.

Matt take a look at my post last week, on Wednesday I believe, called IRS ID verification heads up. I had the same thing with client. If my memory serves me right, she said all they asked  for on current return,, after going through all the hoops and taking a selfie and providing driver's license,  was her filing status and her pin, e-file pin I believe. Hope this helps.
