Problems with Easyacct updated software

QA
Level 1

Anyone has an idea/suggestion, on how to handle all of these problems. We are experiencing problems across the board. Sales Journal, Payroll, Bank Rec, Cumulative Journals not showing the liabilities, and during the tax season this is a major issue that needs to be resolved quickly. We are running out of time and options.

We reverted back to the old version today.  Luckily, we had done backups before we switched to the new version, so we were able to restore from that point.  We're missing a few days of activity, but that can be redone.  I did make a post of our step-by-step process earlier today if that helps you.

How were you able to revert back to the 24/25 version?  I just tried to upload it from the proconnect website and it just downloaded 25/26 again.  This is a HUGE problem, as I cannot even access my 3 largest clients accounts.  A/P hasn't been updated in 12 days, and payroll was done manually last week.  HELP!

You have to choose "Download Full CD Image" .  Also, if you go back a few posts, you can find my step by step process.

I literally have the old 24/25 version on a standalone computer and the 25/26 on the network computer.  I am running all of the 2025 related payroll reports on the standalone, and hope to transfer to 25/26 from a backup once the bugs are fixed.  This has been a complete nightmare with both payroll and accounts payable.  I haven't even begun to address the December financials and general ledgers yet.

Thanks for your reply...but that doesn't help with the interaction between EasyACCT and the Information Return system....they both have to be for 2025 to work...right now, EasyACCT is crashing every time we try to send w-2's ...with no error report ...just dies

I've tried just local data...network data.  It actually worked 2 times locally but never since.  All the techs are saying an update next week and then we'll be behind 2 weeks

I called on 2 Jan and was told they are aware. Took my e-mail and stated they will e-mail me when fixed. Called today... 1 hour wait; can't do that. Sounds like they are having a LOT of problems!

Pretty unacceptable at this time of year.  I've tried everything that I can think of over the last 12 days and have been on hold at least 15 hours in that time. UGH!!

I printed the W2 forms from the EasyAcct directly (24/25 system).  I didn't transfer to the IRS.  I also created the SSA electronic file directly from the EA software.

I am so overwhelmed by  the inept performance of Intuit this year.  I have used this software for 20 years and never had I experienced such a horrible role out.  I am at my wit's end trying to juggle mock payrolls, mock a/p check registers and payments, and in general explaining to clients what is going on.... I have called 6 times over the "large client file" bug issue and they still have no idea when to expect a fix.  This is going to cost me clients, but what else can I possibly do?

The people that answer are all really nice but don't know Squatem about how the process is supposed to work.  I feel sorry for them but not for Intuit!!

I'm now having issues with the chart of accounts and payroll journals disappearing completely. Has anyone else experienced this?

Yes, I have had to reenter prior periods of payroll information twice.  November was lost during an Intuit screen time takeover trying to repair the first 25/26 transition (Dec 1), and now December is not showing on the employee year to date earnings (prior year for 2025) on the 25/26 software.  Of course, now we created dummy clients to process the 2026 payrolls for 3 large clients, so that will also need to be recorded (January...) once the bug is fixed.

EastAcct program is shutting down when we try to enter payroll checks through the writeup section.  We are on hold with tech support, which is well over an hour now.  We cannot process anything at this time and are falling behind with payroll reports, etc. When can we expect to have these problems resolved.  Our deadline for payroll reports and W-2 is fast approaching.

The only solution that we have been successful with is through the payroll module in 25/26, and if it is a large client (data transfer still not available), we had to create mock companies that have only payroll information to minimize the file size for transfer.  This was a major effort, as we  had to recreate the GL, Bank, and Employee files just to issue the payroll checks.

I have one client who has months of entry's just vanishing I waited on hold for 2 hours only to get disconnected. if I go back to 2024 will all the work, I have done for other companies still be there?

Supposedly Version 2025.2.04 will be out today.  I checked about an hour ago and it was not there.  I hope it's a good update

It will depend on your backups.  I had multiple year end 2025 backups on different sources before I even made the first attempt at the software update. I was able to reload the information from an external hard drive.  I have 24/25 loaded on a completely separate computer and I have checked it, all 24/25 information is there.  On a different computer, I have 25/26 loaded.  Some of my clients new year is there, and some of my clients cannot even transfer the data base.  The only peace of mind that I have at this point, is that I know I have a completely accurate copy of the data on one computer as of 12/31/25.  Everything that we have processed in the 25/26 program has a paper copy and a backup stored.  I fear that we will lose all of the hours of efforts, and have to re-enter once the program has been corrected.  But, I don't know what other options we have.

I have been told by every support call that I would receive an email if an update fixes our issue with EasyACCT crashing, but this is the only spot where I'm getting any information so far.
