Date entry error after closing

We closed our company and began entering data for the new year (2025). An entry was keyed with an incorrect date of the prior year (2024). That caused the GL to be out of balance the sum of that incorrect entry. I cannot obtain the incorrect entry to remove it.

Interestingly enough, I can run a detail GL for a beginning date of 12/01/24 and ending date of 01/31/25 and actually see the incorrect entries.

What month did you enter for the "Now Entering" field at the top of the "Enter Transactions" application?  I would think you would need to bring up that month and then scroll through until you find the transaction.  If you can see it in cumulative general ledger, perhaps search for the amount within that month you entered at top of screen... once you find it, correct the date it is in entered.

Thank you so very much! We didn't realize that EasyACCT stored 24 months of transactions that could be accessed within the program! Makes perfect sense for reporting purposes. We were able to enter that month's transactions, delete the error, return to the current year (but without updating the account balances). Once into the current year, we entered an adjusting entry in 2025 for that amount for 2024.
