Welcome to your June 2021 list of tax and compliance deadlines for review; feel free to share these with your clients.
In June, it’s recommended that you:
- File returns or extensions for taxpayers abroad.
- Review tax law changes for 2021.
- Schedule much-needed R&R.
Key Compliance Dates:
Thursday, June 3 – Semiweekly depositors deposit FICA and withheld income tax on wages paid on May 26–28.
Friday, June 4 – Semiweekly depositors deposit FICA and withheld income tax on wages paid on May 29–June 1.
Wednesday, June 9 – Semiweekly depositors deposit FICA and withheld income tax on wages paid on June 2–4.
Thursday, June 10 – Tipped employees who received $20 or more in tips during May report them to the employer on Form 4070, Employee’s Report of Tips to Employer.
Friday, June 11 – Semiweekly depositors deposit FICA and withheld income tax on wages paid June 5–8.
Tuesday, June 15:
- Deadline to file returns for individual and businesses in Texas, Louisiana and Oklahoma.
- Monthly depositors deposit FICA and withheld income tax for May.
- Individuals and calendar-year corporations pay second installment of 2021 estimated tax.
- Individuals outside the United States file Form 1040 for 2021. For automatic four-month extension, file Form 4868, Application for Automatic Extension of Time to File U.S. Individual Tax Return.
Wednesday, June 16 – Semiweekly depositors deposit FICA and withheld income tax on wages paid June 9–11.
Friday, June 18 – Semiweekly depositors deposit FICA and withheld income tax on wages paid June 12–15.
Wednesday, June 23 – Semiweekly depositors deposit FICA and withheld income tax on wages paid June 16–18.
Friday, June 25 – Semiweekly depositors deposit FICA and withheld income tax on wages paid June 19–22.
Wednesday, June 30 – Semiweekly depositors deposit FICA and withheld income tax on wages paid June 23–25.
