How to repair a Document Management System (DMS) installation

DMS program errors and issues that occur when printing to DMS may be due to program installation damage.

It may be necessary to run the Repair install. Close all applications and follow the steps below:

  1. Type Control in the system search bar and click the OK button to open the Control Panel.
    • In older versions of Windows, press the Windows key + R together on your keyboard to open the Run dialog box. Then type Control.
  2. Locate the Programs section.
  3. Click on Uninstall a program.
  4. Locate the DMS program.
  5. Right-click on Lacerte DMS or ProSeries DMS and select Change.
  6. Select the Repair option and then click Next.
  7. Check the box, Yes, enable the DMS toolbar for Microsoft Office Applications (if applicable).
    • This is optional and you aren't required to check the box.
    • If checked, Microsoft Office must already be installed on the computer.
  8. Click Next. The repair DMS install will complete.
  9. Select one of the options below:
    1. Yes, I want to restart my computer now.
    2. No, I will restart my computer later.
      • The changes made by the repair install require the computer to be restarted to take effect.
        • DMS shouldn't be opened until after the computer has been restarted.
  10. Click Finish.
