Modules are Disabled or Grayed Out Under Tax Type in the Client Menu

Tax modules are disabled or grayed out when you go to the Client menu and point to Tax Type
A "grayed out" tax type in the Client menu means the module was not selected during the initial install. To resolve this issue you will need to run setup and install at least US (Federal) for that module. We recommend you run the web Setup from your Start Menu to ensure you are getting the the latest version of the program. Follow the steps in this article or click the video to see a demonstration on how to install the missing modules.
Solution
To install the missing the module:
- Go to the Windows Start button and search for YYYY Lacerte Web Setup to start the setup process. (YYYY represents the tax year. Example: 2023 Lacerte Web Setup)
- Click Next at the Welcome screen.
- On the Custom Setup screen, select Lacerte Tax and click Next.
- On the State Selection Screen. Check the boxes corresponding the modules and states you wish to install.
- Click Next to continue.
- Review the settings on the final screen and press Install to begin the installation.
- Once the installation is complete, press the Finish button to exit.
Open the Lacerte Tax program. The tax module will now be available under the Tax Type menu.
This sometimes happens if a machine was meant to be installed as a workstation on a network but was installed installed as a stand-alone. Check the System File Path; if it's local but should be on the network, change it to the appropriate network location.
