
Updating your firm name in additional products after EFIN verification

Now that you've updated your firm name for your EFIN, this article will help you with updating your firm name for additional products you may use.

eSignature
If you use eSignature, call so we can update the firm name your customers see when they go to sign your documents.

Intuit Hosting
If you have Intuit Hosting for Lacerte or ProSeries, the Rightworks AppHub will show the updated firm name within 5 business days after it has been updated for your EFIN. If you are still showing old information after waiting that long, or want to request to have this change expedited, call for assistance.

Intuit Link
To update your firm name for Intuit Link:
- Sign in to Intuit Link as a firm admin.
- Select Firm Settings.
- On the Account tab, locate the Firm Information section and enter your firm name under Company Name.
- Select Save.
- Locate the Firm Information (shown to clients) section and under Firm Name Shown to Client enter your firm name.
- Select Save.
- The delete icon in the Firm Logo section can be used to delete your old logo. Once removed, there will be a choice in this section to Add a photo or logo.
- If you have changed your email addresses as part of your name change, update the Client Activity Emails section.
- If your firm uses Intuit Link templates, review the Email Templates and Request Templates tabs.
- If your old firm name was typed for any template, replace that with the new firm name or the Firm Name keyword.
- You will need to select Save after making changes to a template.
Lacerte defaults to using keywords that automatically fill in the firm name when you invite users to Intuit Link. If the invitation or engagement letter was customized with typing out the firm name instead of using the keywords, it may need to be updated and saved for future use. You can review from the Tools menu, by going to Intuit Link and choosing Invite client to Intuit Link.
Intuit Tax Advisor
Intuit Tax Advisor does not have a setting to update your firm name.
New plans will need to be created to reflect the name change.
If a new plan still shows the old name after you have confirmed it's up to date in your tax product, call for assistance.

Other places you may need to update

Lacerte defaults to using keywords that automatically fill in the firm name. The following places should be reviewed for needed changes if you customized and typed the firm name instead of using the keyword:
- Client Letter under the Settings menu in Lacerte.
- The Letters tab of Database Reports under the Print menu in Lacerte.
- Organizer under the Tools menu in Lacerte.
- Slip Sheets under the Settings menu in Lacerte.
ProConnect Tax defaults to using keywords that automatically fill in the firm name for Client Letters. If you customized and typed the firm name instead of using the keyword you should review for needed changes. Client Letters can be updated from the Settings menu.
ProSeries defaults to using codes that automatically fill in the firm name for letters. If you customized and typed the firm name instead of using the code you should review for needed changes. While inside a client, from the Tools menu go to Letter and select Manage Standard Letter.
