How to amend an individual return (1040X) in ProConnect Tax
by Intuit•7• Updated 3 weeks ago
This article will help you create and file an amended return for Form 1040 in ProConnect Tax.
If you are looking for how to amend a different return type, select your return type below:
Starting in tax year 2022, e-filed 1040-X returns can receive a refund by direct deposit. Paper filed amendments will still be issued refund checks by mail.
Before you start:
- We recommend creating a copy of the original return to save your entries as filed.
- If you didn't prepare the client's original 1040, or you prepared it in a different program, use Amending an individual return (1040X) not created in ProConnect Tax, instead.
- 1040NR filers only complete a few portions of Form 1040X when amending. See Form 1040X instructions for more details.
