Using in-product Form Help for Lacerte
by Intuit•13• Updated 1 month ago
While on the Forms section of Lacerte, you may come across a line that needs additional context, or isn't populated with the expected content. This is where you can take advantage of Form Help.
Form Help provides in-product assistance by opening a webpage with relevant information to help you determine how a line is calculated.

You have two ways to control Form Help: a checkbox that turns it on or off for the form page you're currently on, and a dropdown right next to it that turns it on or off across all form pages.
Turning Form Help on or off for the current page
Find the ? checkbox located at the top of the screen while on the Forms tab.
- Check the box to turn Form Help on for the form page you're currently viewing. A blue question mark icon will appear on any line where Form Help is available.
- Uncheck the box to turn Form Help off for that page.
This control only affects the form page you're on. To change Form Help for every form page at once, use the dropdown:

Next to the ? checkbox, you'll find a dropdown that controls Form Help for every form page in Lacerte./FormHelpONOFF.png)
- Select On from the dropdown to enable Form Help across all form pages.
- Select Off from the dropdown to disable Form Help across all form pages.
Note: This global control used to live under Settings > Options (Ctrl + O). It has moved to the dropdown next to the ? checkbox, so you no longer need to leave the Forms tab to change this setting.
Using Form Help
Right click on any line where you see the blue icon and select Form Help from the dropdown menu. Your browser will then open a new window with information for that line.

When the page opens, it will jump directly to the section containing the relevant information for the line you were working on.
