This article references default installation paths and uses YY to reference the tax year in 20YY format. C: will always indicate the local drive and X: will always indicate the network drive.
In some cases, data may not populate on the Forms tab after reinstalling Lacerte. You can resolve this issue by restarting your computer.
Removing the program using these steps will not remove the client data from your computer.
NOTE: This option is not necessarily a clean install, but it may fix certain issues. For a true clean install, view Option 2.
Step 1: Download and install the Lacerte Tool Hub (if you already have the Lacerte Tool Hub installed, skip this step)
Close Lacerte if it's still open.
Download the Lacerte Tool Hub Install file. Save the file somewhere you can easily find it (such as your Downloads folder or your Desktop).
Open the file you downloaded (lacertetoolhub_setup.exe).
Follow the on-screen steps to install and agree to the terms and conditions.
When the install finishes, double-click the icon on your Windows desktop to open the tool hub.
Step 2: Using the tool in the Lacerte Tool Hub
Open the Lacerte Tool Hub.
Select Install on the left.
Click on WebSetup /force.
Follow the on-screen instructions to run the tool.
Confirm which type of installation you need, and select the relevant option below. For more information on the different types of installations before proceeding, see here.
Before completing the stand-alone or network steps below, try renaming the WYYTax.INI file to resolve the problem. If the errors remain, continue with the manual steps.
Performing these steps will reset the Fonts & Colors and Display columns at the top of the screen.
Close Lacerte Tax (all versions) and any other open programs.
Hold down the Windows key and press R to open the Run box.
