Form 1065 return - The following diagnostic is generating: e-file: Form 8283 Section B#1: For electronic filing purposes, a donee signature document must be included as a binary attachment. (Ref. #2060167). I have a pdf document attached to the efile. What is a binary attachment? How do I convert my pdf document to a binary attachment so this critical diagnostic will go away?

Can you just ignore the Diagnostic if you already attached it?

No - I tried submitting the electronic file and it was rejected - just takes me back to this critical diagnostic.

What did you select from the dropdown list for the attachment?

On the EF tab, I selected "attach PDF" and then browsed to where my pdf file was saved. Then in the "Link to form" I selected Form 8283 Sec B Appraiser Signature Document" and then in the Activity name I selected the applicable donation that I had entered in the 8283 input.

The Diagnostic you quoted says you need to attach the Donee Acknowledgement . This is the 8283 signed by the charity.

correct - that's what the attachment is...the signed pages.

You said you selected Appraiser signature. That's not what the Diagnostic says. Usually both need to be attached, separately.
