What does it mean when the EFIN summary page says Efin dropped?

A colleague was reapplying for her efin after not using it for 3 years, and the EFIN status says 

EFIN dropped. Doe anyone know what that means?

Sounds like the irs deactivated the EFIN, and you need to fill out a new application. See links:
