Does it include mandatory e-filing requirements for Form 5227? If not, I'm not going to read it.
This isn't all of the Big Beautiful Bill, it's only the tax part of it. Even then, the SALT deduction provision is still being negotiated. The Ways and Means part will be stitched together with the Energy and Commerce part (both committees were up late last night, voting down amendments) and then the whole House will try to pass the entire package. Then it goes to the Senate, where it will have to be amended to satisfy some members. Some of the provisions are retroactive to the first of this year, so it will be interesting to see how long it takes to work out compromises.
The headline on one columnist's work this morning is "Trump is an inept dealmaker, but at least he’s good at reversing course." Just keep that in mind before studying these proposals too seriously.
