Question:  Is there a quicker way of entering each stock transaction on the 8949? Will the IRS accept just the totals of all the transaction, f I attach the PDF file of the stock trade?

thanking you in advance.

If the cost basis is marked as being reported to the IRS, all you have to do is enter totals and you don't need to attach anything.

If all of the transactions are covered with no adjustments you can skip the 8949 entirely and just put the totals on Sch D directly (lines 1a and 8a).  If they're scattered, smothered, chunked, topped, diced, peppered or capped that may require different reporting.
