Has anyone ever heard of their "secure messaging", let alone used it?

The more I know, the more I don't know.

I didn't realize they have it as Chat. I've recently read about the various contact methods provided for professionals.

I have eservices but all I can do there is request transcripts, after my POA is on file.

eservices might also be the place where you can submit POA's electronically. I forget. I did a couple when it first launched a few months ago but not since.

The more I know, the more I don't know.

"This enabled taxpayers to navigate to their Message Center within their Online Account and view various official IRS notices"

My average client doesn't seem to have the capability to read a simple notice now so telling them to go online should be even more fun 🙄

I have to admit I did not bother to read anything the IRS mentions regarding their Mobile App. The last place I want to deal with IRS forms, references, communication, is a phone or tablet screen and not having a decent keyboard, and no mouse to throw against the wall when I get angry.
