I vaguely remember some California practitioners mentioning this subject. For those who are still interested, there is an interesting article here:
https://www.politico.com/live-updates/2024/05/16/congress/a-successful-discharge-petition-00158356
Which has a link to the bill, which apparently extends some disaster-area deduction time frames while making specific references to the wildfires, and to the Ohio train disaster. You have to read between the lines to figure out why a Republican from Florida is so passionate about this subject, and managed to recruit so many Democrats to actually get some action on it.
You have clicked a link to a site outside of the Intuit Accountants Community. By clicking "Continue", you will leave the community and be taken to that site instead.
