1099B worksheet

-Dan-
Level 1

Can you summarize brokerage transactions and not include individual transactions.  In previous years I would enter a line saying see attached brokerage statement.  Is that no longer necessary?  Never was necessary?

I understand if there were adjustments each item would be required to be entered on the quick entry worksheet.

Thx

Dan

In more recent years, the IRS uses the codes from the 8949 to determine it is a summary.

As long as you have code M entered, the IRS will know to look for the attachment either with the 8453 or  in the PDF attachments. This article gives a pretty good overview of how to do the attachments with the new format in ProSeries 2020 https://proconnect.intuit.com/community/form-1040/help/how-do-i-attach-a-stock-summary-to-the-schedu...

**Say "Thanks" by clicking the thumb icon in a post
**Mark the post that answers your question by clicking on "Accept as solution" and then just changing the Accept as solution to Mark as Best Answer, mine gets cutoff, so it is too long. I changed mine to the following and it fits. -->**Say "Thanks" by clicking the thumb icon in a post
