Transfer\roll forward data from prior year 1065 to current year 1120-S, and vice versa

K_CPA

Hello:

Currently it is very easy to transfer data from the prior year to the current year if you're filing the same tax form (e.g. you filed form 1065 in 2022 & you're filing a 1065 in 2023). However, in cases where a client switches entity types and needs to file a new form, it is currently not possible to transfer data.

Proconnect should make it possible to transfer\roll forward data from one type of business tax form to another (E.g. roll forward the 2022 info from a 1065 to a 2023 1120-s). I totally understand this is not an apples-to-apples transfer, but at least transferring basic info like partner\shareholder names & addresses, as well as fixed assets would be immensely helpful
