BOY, DO i EVER AGREE  WITH THIS !!!

I'll share another beef I have with e-signature and it's like to be adios next year.

NO TEMPLATES AND NO OVERLAYS IN DOCUSIGN!

Example --- I want to send an engagement letter to a client. So I add Send engagement letter, the system takes me to DocuSign where I then have to add every field manually for every signing client.

I used to use Right Signature, where I could have a temple, where I select the ENGLTR template, with the fields pre-filled and all I need to do is add the email address and wham  - it's sent.  8879s were a breeze but more cumbersome than Intuit e-signature. I would print the 8879s, upload into Right Signature, add the client name and email address and then select an "overlay' that i predefined. example, SELECTING 8878 Married "imported" the correct signature and date fields and I selected, placed then where indicated by the master important document ans I click SEND. It asks if I want kba on or off along with days until experimentation , etc.

Next, Templates. $1900 for e-signature and no templates allowed. Templates are a document pre-filled with signature, date and any other fields that are needing attention. If there are 2 signers, I enter the email address and name of signer 1, then signer 2 and click send.

These are incredible time savers and I've asked to have them, made available, even if I have to pay an extra fee. I called QS and they said talk to Intuit, I've called Intuit and say say talk to DocUsign.

Last vent. When clients have signed and returned their 8879s, I then download them    and place them in the appropriate folder. Do you think Intuit could have placed a check box that says "Downloaded" next in the dashboard so I do not have wonder if I have downloaded this client before?  Nope!

I have no issue with the integrity of the Lacerte program but frankly the interface is sloppy. How many have a dependent born 06/1758 and the program inserts the year 2048 instead of 1948?

I wish I had $1 for every time I get ERROR ERROR WARNING DANGER WILL ROBINSON YOU WANT TO SENT THIS TO INTUIT AND I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT THE ERROR IS!

I love the diagnostics - best I've seen, but every time I run the program it wants to sell me something. Intuit On Line, Intuit Smart Vault, etc.

I'm going to have a nice long talk with the sales manager -- if I don't start getting more for my $8500 (i'm a sole practitioner), I'm done. Frankly, ProSeries, is more polished

Thanks for letting me vent.

Well, I've had it with Lacerte. After locking up 5 times in one day, I cancelled my renewal. Going back to ProSeries.

Lacerte wants, with the out of state returns i do, $12,500 for TY2023. ProSeries, complete with Networking, free states included, adding an organizer and 350 Doc-U-Sign envelopes for $4,000.

Lacerte, while very comprehensive, is sloppy. It locks up CONSTANTLY, PRICE GOES UP 5% EVERY YEAR, and the e-signature interface is HORRIBLE. I am actually looking into other e-signature options. Since  I'm getting old, I'm cutting my practice down to 350 from 500 clients and can manage that easily with Pro Series. Never had lock up issues with PS and entering a new dependent DOB of 06/05/52 populates as 1952 where in Lacerte it populates as 2052. How the f can there a dependent that hasn't been born yet? Message to Lacerte development --- TEST YOUR SOFTWARE! IT'S HORRIBLE.

If I were younger, I would switch to Ultra Tax in a heartbeat.
