Print the Details

JMP

There is often a lot of good information in the details -- the multi-line entry box that opens up when you hit the plus sign in most data fields. I would like print this information to print -- be included on the "statements" page. (I would like all details to print every time, but I suppose you could make the printing optional. Perhaps make it an option like the "flag" feature.)

For example, if the taxpayer has two mortgage interest statements listed in the details box, I'd like to see a statement like this:

  Statement 27

Schedule A, Line 8a - Home mortgage Interest and points reported on Form 1098

  Mortgage ABC  $2000

  Mortgage XYZ   $3000

                 Total:  $5000

I would like this option as well.

Somewhat mind-boggling this isn't automatically an option. I'm just starting out my practice and just using for returns as needed on extension, but really doubt I can use this program for 2021.

I guess I could live with these not automatically printing with the return - it was hit and miss in ProSeries, after all - but at least in ProSeries you could go to an individual schedule and there would be a nice "Print" button.  There is no way to even print these in ProConnect, a program I hated last year, and hate even more for just the remaining two returns I'm doing in my final year.  They are complicated returns, with a lot of details in the sub schedules, and no way to provide those details for the client in a format that matches the rest of the return.  I'll have to spend the extra time dealing with screen shots or creating my own in Excel or something.

Every time ProConnect issues an announcement of a time-saving feature, I laugh.  Bitterly.

@CPAMSN  I realize this is too late for the 2021 filing season, but if you (or anyone else reading this) haven't already done so, I highly recommend that you make the investment in ProSeries.  After using ProSeries with great satisfaction for thirty years, I can assure you that ProConnect is not a professional program and should not be used by someone who wants to build a professional practice.
