My client's state (North Carolina) does not accept eSignatures for the federally accepted 8879 eSignature Authorization. This new warning is keeping me from being able to "Start a request" entirely. That means I can not use the DocuSign feature AT ALL simply because the state does not accept the eSignature. A warning would suffice in this case and should not keep me from using this feature because although I did obtain a wet signature from the client when I go to the Tax Return dashboard the ESIGNATURE STATUS reads "Not started". This is a HUGE problem because I depend on that dashboard to remind me what still needs to get done. For all my North Carolina clients I have to remember or create a separate spreadsheet to indicate which clients I have completed and which still need to be signed. I do not have the extra mental capacity for something like that when the software we pay to use should be more than capable but instead of creating an additional problem for me.
This was NOT an issue in previous years. Please change this feature to prompt me with a warning but do NOT omit me from being able to use the DocuSign feature entirely!
