Why would Proconnect make printing unavailable?

Here is the message that I got when trying to print a 2020 return for a client to review:

"Tax year 2025 and prior year returns are not available for print or e-file while the IRS is closed for e-file. Once the IRS reopens for prior year e-filing, print and e-file will be made available for those years"

This is completely and totally unacceptable for me and my firm. I will not be using Proconnect in the future unless this printing issue is resolved immediately.

100% agree!  This is absurd!

With another federal government shutdown looming for later this month, what is the IRS plan for e-filing when that happens?  We can't print returns until legislation is signed?

Before condemning Intuit, let's find out if this mandate comes from IRS.  It could be that Intuit was told to jump, and answered "how high?" instead of "you don't really mean that, do you?"  If the federal government can run a South American country, it's easy to control the 258th biggest American company, especially one that doesn't pump any oil.

Hi @MattNorrisCPA Thanks for posting in the community about not being able to print. We are posting here in case someone sees this post before your other one. Current year credits are not available for use at the moment. Printing will be available when billing has been processed for the current tax year and e-filing will be available once the IRS opens e-filing for the tax year.
