The client looks at their bank statement.

The more I know the more I don’t know.

"The client looks at their bank statement."

And then the tax preparer looks at the bank statement because the client couldn't figure it out. 😁

This may help. I circled in red where YOU need to enter the amount the really happened, by confirming with your client. Yellow is what should be, but stuff happens.

At [Content Removed]  we recommend checking your electronic extension payments directly through your Intuit (TurboTax/QuickBooks) account. If you filed your extension using TurboTax, you can view the exact amount paid under the “Payments Made” section or in your payment confirmation receipt. The payment is linked to Form 4868 (Application for Automatic Extension of Time to File), which you can reference for details. For additional verification, you can also request a payment transcript from the IRS. This helps you keep accurate records and ensures smooth reconciliation in your [Content Removed]  accounting workflows.

Preparers in this board are using ProConnect Tax.  They would look inside the software as shown by George above in his screenshot to verify the amount paid with the extension.  However, if that is not successful and you need additional information you can contact us at ProConnect support and we can look at the actual transmission that was sent via efile.
