When entering NOL Carryback to 2015 from year 2020, why do I get the error message - cannot exceed 2018 - under the Year of Loss.

Because they didn't update the 2015 software for the change to 5 year carryback.

It is not an efile, so you can ignore the error. This will be a paper return to attach to either 1045 or 1040X
