My client made a non-stock company, an educational organization. He is planning to file for tax exemption by filing form 1023.My question is which tax form to file as this company is generating money from memberships but did not get the tax-exempt status yet.
Thanks,

If he didn't incorporate and he didn't quite have time to file for a tax exempt status, sounds like he might be operating a schedule C operation. But timing is everything - was he operating in 2024 or prior and still hasn't filed for tax exempt status in 2025?

he incorporated his company in Dec 2023, did not file for exemption till now, planning to file after tax season, but he wants to file a tax return before that. He is running an educational society; I was confused to go for 990 or treat the corporation as C corporation

"he incorporated his company in Dec 2023" sounds like there is a corporate tax return or maybe two is needed in this situation.
Calendar year 2023 & 2024?
Or a fiscal year year ending 11/30 that will be late filed if not done soon?
