Last week I finished a 1040 for 2023, and I used a credit to download the return as a pdf. I sent the signature request, and today the client asked for a filing extension. When I tried to efile the extension, ProConnect asked me to buy another credit. I don't understand why, unless the partially completed e-signature is causing an issue. I have 9 clients, I have printed or e-filed 9 returns, I purchased 9 credits and used 9 credits. Tech Support told me that it takes one credit to print, a second credit to eFile, and a third unrelated credit for the e-Signature. When I complained that has never been so, he told me he was instructed that it take 3 credits to print, efile, and e-sign one 1040.
What is going on here?
