I have a return that was accepted by IRS on March 14th 2021 and as of today the return has not yet been processed (per the where is my refund app at irs.gov). Thoughts?

.Wait. There is a backlog. Some returns are being selected for extra review.

The more I know, the more I don't know.

The "Where's my Refund" works as well as a 1972 Yugo, so the message there doesn't really mean anything.  2021 has been famous for needing to be patient since some of those 2020 refunds are really slow to be issued.

The client was able to contact IRS via phone and they advised that the estimated turnaround time is now 10 weeks versus the 21 days they normally take.  Mostly due to COVID and WFH.  FYI.
