It's never the first priority for software vendors. Some of the draft forms are available from IRS already. But we don't know what the law is, because Congress is in session.
Many of them can't be filed until mid-February, because 1099's aren't sent till then. I can wait for the 1041 program but I wish they would do the 1120 and 1120-S, because for many taxpayers all the numbers for those are available January 1.
Generally first release is November, but usually a bit rough and as @BobKamman says - Not quite ready for Primetime.
