All Oklahoma returns are currently setup to calculate Use Tax on individual returns. Oklahoma passed a law back in 2015 or 2016 to start collecting Use Tax on all online purchases. So the Use Tax calculation is unnecessary now. We have to go in on each individual return and override the software to not calculate Use Tax. If we miss it, our clients are potentially paying an additional $60-$100 in unnecessary tax.
1. OK probably requires software vendors to include the use tax fields.
2. There are other reasons people may have to pay use tax than on internet purchases.
