I am preparing a return for MFJ status for year 2022. and my client have following incomes  Wages  185738  (taxpayer 71276, Spouse (Employer1 71923, Employer2  42538) , interest income 41, capital loss (-3000) and my client has contributed to IRA 6000 each for both him and his spouse and they both are covered under employer retirement plan .. Now my question is that Is IRA deduction of 12000 (6000 for him and 6000 for spouse) is still available for couple or not ? Because when i entered this figures in their sections in pro connect and IRA deduction is not showing in their Form 1040 line 10 and Sch-1 line 20 so please guide me.

There are worksheets in the 1040 instructions to compute the deductible amount of IRA contributions, if any. The software generates them, too.

If not deductible, they can be nondeductible contributions shown on Form 8606.

I agree with sjr. Intuit does a good job with this.
