I'm looking for a California CPA that uses Lacerte.

Hi.

I'm a retired Wisconsin CPA. I sold my book of clients in January of 2020. I still do a couple of family members and I kept 1 client (married couple) that are CA residents. They had a more complex return because they were invested in several real estate investment partnerships, as well as a couple of publicly traded Oil & Gas partnerships. Those meant preparing numerous state returns. That aspect of their return has gotten simpler, but they are getting advanced in age and one is in a memory facility with alzheimers.  They have done some estate planning in recent years and established some revocable trusts. Because of their advanced ages and the complexity of their returns, I'd like to talk to them about establishing a relationship with a local (they live in San Francisco) CPA and I would relinquish the client to that CPA. The backup of their Lacerte file would have passive loss carryovers from the real estate partnerships. I want to stress that they are NOT problem clients. I just feel like someone that is up to date with CA tax rules would better be able to work with them now and in the future. I was a relatively small, sole proprietor firm. I met with my clients to get their tax info and also to deliver the returns. I'd like to see them work with someone small to medium sized, where they would be able to establish a one on one relationship with the cpa and work with the same person every year.  Please contact me if this interests you. My direct email is roland_daneau_cpa@yahoo.com. Thanks!
