    Glitch in form 990

I'm trying to fill out the Part IX statement of functional expenses of form 990.

The amounts for Depreciation and Amortization are automatically filled in A column, total expenses. But they are not allocated in other columns, from B through D. So the total functional expenses in column A get imbalanced with the sum of the column B through D. If I put the amounts in column C, I get an error message that I nned to remove the override for efiling, or I need to file a paper return.

Any help would be really appreciated.

Here is what I would do. I would put the correct amounts in the other columns even if you have to override it. When you are ready to e-file the return, go to the e-file module and click on the client. Before e-filing the return, disable the error checking. There should be a little box there. You should then be able to efile the return and it should be okay.

I have the same glitch related to California. How has this been known for so long and not fixed yet?

@SWESTWOOD I don't know, maybe it is not a priority for them?
