Foreign tax paid on 1099-DIV, box 7

Where in ProConnect do I enter a measly $12 of foreign tax paid as reported on 1099-div, box 7. I know it goes on line 1 of Schedule 3, but CANNOT figure out how to get it there. I typed 12 in every box in the program and toggled every check box to no avail!

There is a very cool little box on the left, below All and In Use that is empty except for an MAGNIFYING GLASS. Type "foreign tax withheld" there and VOILA! She is found!!!!!

When you were entering the Dividend income, there was pretty sparce grid > at the right end of the 1st line is a blue rectangle with the word Details and a trash can. This appears in many input screens. Click Details > Often tabs open up when this happens, but in this case, just a long row of very boring entry points, scroll through them and get familiar with all, including Foreign tax, and Foreign Tax Credit

ALSO - Where you started this was a box for queries - Enter short phrase, like Foreign Tax Credit and VOILA you should find https://accountants.intuit.com/support/en-us/help-article/form-1116/entering-foreign-taxes-paid-gene...

Hmmm...I had already tried 100% of your suggestions, which is why I am frustrated. I had already tried entering the $12 in "Foreign Income Tax withheld (U.S. dollars)" and ticked the "1099" box after having used the search bar (your "very cool little box"). I had already followed in the instructions at the link you provided, to no avail on Sch 3, line 1, which meant I had a query ... and I asked it. Thanks...

Did you elect to claim the credit without filing Form 1116?

The more I know the more I don’t know.
