I have a client that received a 1095-A showing premium tax credit paid for affordable plan. Client doesn't know anything about this insurance, never enrolled in it. Contact MD Health Connection, they said that when she was unemployed on state insurance at end of term, they rolled her over to an affordable plan. They have been providing the credit to United Health Care each month, she was supposed to pay $1.52 per month. She's never paid that amount, never received anything from United Health Care. In the meantime, she's working full time and has employer health care. Her income is over the poverty line, and it's calculating her to pay the whole credit back. This seems wrong, is there some way to fight it? MD Health Connections is having her file an appeal, but not sure how long that process will take. Can I override the amount and add an explanation?
I find it hard to believe that MD just did this without providing notification to her.
Granted, it sounds like she didn't pay attention/ignored it.
