Hello,
I filed a 2023 return for a client reporting her IRA contribution as a traditional IRA. In March of 2025, client's financial advisor informed me that he had designated her 2023 contribution as a ROTH. I then amended it, and of course, the client owed money. Just today, the same financial advisor tells me that he made a mistake and the original 2023 return was correct, her IRA contribution was, in fact, a traditional IRA! Yep, now I'm amending an amended return. The problem is there is no place on the 1040X to indicate the amount of tax that the client paid with the amended return. I've probably missed something, Yes, I called ProConnect and they could not help me either. Any help will be greatly appreciated it.
