Are there any special credentials needed to be able to file 1065 and S-corp returns?

Will need an EFIN to efile. No special credentials needed, just the knowledge of what is required to complete F1065s and F1120Ss.
You will need to download the programs. You can pay-per-return instead of purchasing unlimited.

Unfortunately, nope. Anyone can hang out a F.1120-S/f.1065 shingle.
SHOULD they do so, without experience, training, mentoring and CPE ? No, but many do.
