Getting EIN for LLC taxed as an S-Corp

I'm applying for a customer EIN for an LLC taxed as an S-Corp.  In the online Application is it OK to choose "LLC" or should I choose S-Corp?  I filed form 2553 to have the LLC taxed as an S-Corp. It's a new business.  I'm applying for an EIN for the first time.

If it is an LLC, you apply as an LLC.  But if you don't have an EIN, how did you file the 2553?

I left the EIN field blank on the 2553.  Yes I will go ahead and apply as an LLC.

I'm guessing IRS will send that back.

The more I know, the more I don't know.
