What is this attribute hidden file named USCntLic.IW8 ? Found in the Lacerte data directory during a machine upgrade.

Most files have a somewhat logical name base. My guess is it is a Count (Cnt) of US (1040) returns being done as a comparison to your License (Lic) agreement. 

I don't see it on my machine, with unlimited license. (Yes, I see hidden files)

I usually look for threads online first. Intuit level 1  support led me to think this was a technical support blog.

@ewilgus This is a P2P user-supported forum, not a technical support blog.  There are a few Intuit employees who may stop by from time to time but primarily as moderators rather than support.
