The past few years, Lacerte has been very late in getting the final forms for the Oklahoma Form 511 series. I just checked the projected availability for 2024 returns, and it is showing February 27, 2025! This does not seem to be an issue with the OTC; the 2024 511 has been released and is available to print from the OTC website. For whatever reason, Lacerte continues to be slow to implement the Oklahoma 511 forms into the software each year. This is negatively affecting Oklahoma preparers using Lacerte as we are unable to provide our clients copies of their Oklahoma returns in a timely manner. Lacerte charges a premium for their software (which goes up every year), but fails to provide equivalent support, especially for preparers from smaller states. We need the 511 forms ASAP, bottom line. It's not too much to ask considering the price of the software.
Nice speech, but do you think the decision makers at Intuit are listening? Sometimes you have to wonder if Intuit ever truly realizes how short tax season is for preparers when they do stuff like that. They make a compressed season even shorter when they release forms that late.
