If the returns are rejected, the deadline has passed! 1120 companies will be fined a lot. Who is responsible? Thanks a lot.

It could be that the IRS has shut down e-filing for retooling for the new year. It won't open up until 1/15.
I guess since you prepared the return and weren't aware of the IRS shut down, you would be left holding the bag for any potential penalties.

I not excited. Does Intuit opening one day after mean business returns will be late?
When can I e-file 2024 returns?
Return type | IRS opens | Intuit opens |
Individual (1040) | January 27, 2025 | TBD |
Business (All others) | January 15, 2025 6:00 AM | January 16, 2025 |

@Strongsilence-CPA A business return due 1/15/25 will be late according to that schedule if you efile it.
The more I know the more I don’t know.
